Description

tgmiconwebtitle.png

This mod, directed by Lord0wnage and made by the creator of the Midnight Lurker, adds a new horrifying entity to Minecraft that will stalk you throughout your world, though they don't like their presence being known too early.

Bonesworth is the creator of this creature/entity, so big thanks to him for giving us permission to make this mod and for collaborating with us on this project.

This Mod Does Require GeckoLib

Extra Videos

If you find the music/jumpscare sounds to be too loud, you can turn them down; they are a part of the "Jukebox/Note Block" sound option in the options menu.

How The Growling Man Works

The Growling Man:

2025-09-19_06.png

Though the Growling Man can be seen stalking or watching the player, he typically doesn't go for the kill and will either disappear or try to hide away from the player's sight; however, if you are "marked", he will try to attack you, as being marked means you have caused sorrow or grief, which he is attracted to.

Because the Growling Man is attracted to sorrow and grief, that means if a raid is happening in a village, he will be attracted to it, but because there's so much sorrow and grief, he will become overstimulated and start slaughtering every living thing he sees.

If the Growling Man approaches you at a fast pace, there is a chance he will stand there and take a toll on your mind, and if you let him, then he will end up killing you pretty quickly.

To avoid this, you need to clear your mind,

but beware, as doing this too soon may cause a mental breakdown, which can cause him to attack.

The Growling Man may take shelter within caves or find it interesting to watch what you're doing; if this happens, you may often find him sitting in the darkness just watching you.

The Growling Man also has the ability to appear when you check your inventory and will watch you, and if you don't close your inventory in time, he will manifest nearbyand may attack.

Config Settings and how to use the the Config

To use the config, you have to go into your Minecraft game directory, then go into the "config" folder and it should be there. You can edit the config with Notepad, Notepad++, or any code editor you may have installed.

Or, alternatively, you can install the Configured mod and access the config menu by finding the mod in the "mods" tab in the pause menu and opening the config that way.

Config Settings:

1: "GM Spawntime Min" A random number is generated between min and max for the spawn time, the spawn numbers are in seconds, so set how many seconds you want it to take for him to spawn on min and max.

2: "GM Spawntime Max" A random number is generated between min and max for the spawn time, the spawn numbers are in seconds, so set how many seconds you want it to take for him to spawn on min and max.

3: "GM Spawn Chance" If you want a higher chance of the him spawning set the spawn chance to a lower number, if you want a lower chance for him to spawn set the spawn chance to a higher number.

4: "Regenerate Blocks If Broken By The Entity" If set to true then blocks broken by him will regenerate after a short period of time, if set to false then the blocks broken by him will not regenerate.

5: "GM Chase Time Min" A random number is generated between min and max for the chase time, the chase numbers are in minutes so set how many minutes you want it to take for him to disappear on min and max.

6: "GM Chase Time Max" A random number is generated between min and max for the chase time, the chase numbers are in minutes so set how many minutes you want it to take for him to disappear on min and max.

7: "Don't Spawn GM On First Day" If set to true then he will not spawn on the first day of a world, if set to false then he will be able to spawn on the first day of a world.

8: "GM Max Spawn Distance" A random number is generated between 10 and the set config number for the spawn distance, spawn distance is in blocks so 100 would be 100 blocks away etc.

9: "Amount Of Quick Animal Kills Needed To Get Marked" This is the amount of animal kills in quick succesion required to become "marked".
