Is is weird reviewing my own project? Maybe. Do I care? Don't think so.

Though maybe I should say that I didn't create the pack initially. I started maintaining it after the original author left the Minecraft community and did so for the past few years. I also rewrote large parts behind the scenes, so I know this pack inside out.

Gameplay

I mean the whole flatmap-skyblock map isn't new as the pack took heavy inspiration from Anti-Material Energy, which used the old MineChem mod to supply the player with elements. This pack uses Alchemistry - a spiritual successor of MineChem for 1.12 and the core gameplay loop contains collecting all types of antimatter (renamed concrete) to get access to the whole periodic table. To achieve this the player has to experiment with different mods to get access.

The first 2 questbook chapters are pretty straight forward. The mid-game is weird as the pack uses the Atum 2 mod and having a random generation in the progression of a sky block-esque pack just feels off. Once that part is finished the rest of the pack is more cohesive.

Performace

Skyblock packs have great performance, we have a tiny mod list with around 120 mods and we've stress tested multiple servers together with the Antimatter Chemistry Community. Still no cleanroom launcher - yet.

Aesthetics

If you like the dytopian and very bright flat map awesome. I hated it. Though the pack offers enough options to setup a pretty base only a few hours into the pack.

Note on the playtime: I lost count how many times I beat the pack. There was a time where I began to speedrun the first chapters and I crafted the Extreme Crafting table in under 24 hours playtime. If you don't include the grind in the end needed for all the infinity stuff, this is quite a short pack.

Welcome to Antimatter Chemistry! Here's a questbook where we'll railroad you into doing a linear series of extremely specific not necessarily required things but not tell you about anything else. Don't worry, there's some really good stuff waiting for you at the end of all of this after I drag you by the scruff through vanilla nether, and then the cave dimension, and then vanilla Atum, interspersed with fun quests like making a fishing rod and then telling you to not use the fishing rod. Were you expecting to do something tech related? Don't worry, you will, maybe a dozen hours from now. While you wait for other functional machines to use, have a pink generator. Trying to fuel this is definitely a good use of your time. What do you mean you dont want to go into the vanilla cave dimension to gather ore blocks of ores you already had a bunch of? We love meaningful quest rewards so here's a bunch of useful things and also 8 pieces of bacon that are inferior to the three stacks of cooked potatoes you're probably carrying around. Don't worry, you can go do something else, you certainly don't have to worry about things like end of chapter timewalls and gamestages to pressure you to not take your time.

I think I'm probably just going to go and try to get my alchemistry fill somewhere else.

Great pack, I recommend. Whole mod is based around Alchemistry, which is a very fun mod to progress through. I played for approx. 40 hours. Did not complete it :)

great spin on the skyblock Game play.
Alchemestry forces you to invent interesting workaround to generate some items in acceptable quantities or at all (for example getting tons of bonemeal + two high flowers plus a dissolver for a lot of rare metals)

the pack is well made. however i have a HUGE problem with it. for some reason the devs intentionally put something in the pack thats makes it so the Essentials mod DOES NOT work with this pack. meaning my friends and i had to make a Aternos to play this together which really sucks. again pack is fun but really pissed that they force you to make a server to play with friends

Gostei muito de jogar esse modpack, a progressão é bem intuitiva, mostrando como progredir, fiquei um pouco confuso com os mods de fissão e fusão, mas o resto é bem legal

About

Description

Antimatter Chemistry is a questing/progression pack inspired by Anti-Material Energy (1.7.10) by Parcel31u. You find yourself stranded in the Antimatter dimension with nothing but some basic gear, a chemistry set, and the hopes of returning back to your home.

Coming in at about 150 mods, this pack loads quick and performs well on potato computers, but still remains a unique hand-crafted and engaging experience that can provide dozens of hours of fun.

Looking for an easy way to host an Antimatter Chemistry server? Check out Akliz server hosting, they have one-click installation available for this pack.

Featuring Mods:

  • Alchemistry (My own mod, forms the foundation of the pack)
  • Nuclearcraft
  • Extra Utilities 2
  • Atum 2
  • Avaritia (For those who care to use it in the end-game)
  • Draconic Evolution
  • Deep Mob Learning
  • Thermal Expansion
  • RFTools (& Dimensions)

Upcoming Feature:

We're planning to transform Antimatter Chemistry into a LTS (long-time-support) version. That means that maintaining it for the foreseeable future will be as easy as possible. This will bring some changes to the current modlist as well as implemented new and long time requested features. If you want to discuss the plans and goals for the LTS version with us, visit the Alchemistry Discord server. The invite can be found in the main menu of the pack.
