While many of the mods in this pack are actually very good, it is clear the developers are not willing to put in the effort to integrate the mods properly.

This pack is notorious for having performance issues, crashes and world breakages across updates due to how volatile the mod list is. What I say in my title is only barely hyperbole and I would genuinely recommend to anyone that if they want to play this pack they'd just be better off throwing their favourite mods together instead, because you won't gain anything extra from this pack except some bloat and potentially more crashes caused by MCreator mods.

The crux of the issue is the fact this pack appears to be barely tested between updates with crashes and issues found by the community. When issues inevitably arise, the offending mod often gets immediately removed, potentially causing breakages for people updating from older versions of the pack.

If you do decide to play this pack, choose an older version that was standing for a while and stick with it to keep the smallest chance of it breaking on you.

Better MC is an okay vanilla+ style modpack, especially for people who want Minecraft to feel bigger without jumping straight into a giant tech or magic pack. That being said, it leaves a lot missing, and could do with a massive config and optimization update.

It adds a lot of the things people usually wish vanilla Minecraft had: better worldgen, more structures, more mobs, more dimensions, more building blocks, and more reasons to explore. It is very easy to understand, which makes it a good pack for newer modded players.

My main issue is that it sometimes feels like it is trying to do too much at once. There are a lot of cool mods here, but not always enough direction tying everything together. It can feel more like a huge collection of mods rather than any specific modpack style. More of a kitchen sink pack at this point, with not enough optimization and work done, they seem more interested in popping out new versions and fabric/forge differences rather than optimizing or tuning just one pack.

There are better modpacks (and vanilla+ modpacks), I don't recommend.

For a modpack that tries itself to be the Better Vanilla+ modpack, this modpack has A LOT of fall-off, that genuinely can be fixed!

First of everything, is that this modpack is not integrated, you'd expect a modpack to tinker with configs to perfection? well, don't expect that here, there's barely any balancing, barely any good amount of tinkering with the pack, and with over 300 mods inside? i hope this gets fixed, it just can't get worse

Second of everything, bad documentation on top of barely integrated mods, this is just horrenduous, because most of the time, new players wouldn't even experience the pack as it is intended from your side of the developer, there's this knowledge gap that the modpack should understand and embrace to close the gap, otherwise, more and more people would just play this pack, play another pack, and realise this pack is just bad at doing docs

Third of all, performance wise there's definitely a lot to be worked here, like freezes and everything, i don't know how the devs would optimize this with how many mods that are in this pack, fixing the first and second issue would in general make this more bearable, but i guess, consider memory profiling and remove junk mods that adds buggy things to the pack, and that would fix this so fast

Before i end this review, i do wanna say that the pack has good content and a really good potential to just be a good and popular modpack, not just a "Better MC" but not really better than Vanilla game. For players reading this, you either love this pack for the first time or dislike it all the way through. Let's just hope this pack gets a good quality fixes
