The most of pros is questbook which cover many things from mods.

But majority this modpack has cons due to inbalance of health of mobs where is like to take mobs from GT NH and make it harder and without any sense because you could explore first cave and spawn vampire, spectre which kill you almost instantly. Also, it takes commands from ftbs but only rtp works, not back or sethome - why - to make it harder.

In comparison when i had played GT NH, it was hard but with sense and these evil and OP mobs could spawn only in particular night, not every night like in this modpack.

Me and my friends have picked MC Eternal 2 blindly, as it looked promising despite being a kitchen sink modpack (which I am not a huge fan of) and oh boy did it disappoint us. The power scaling was all over the place, with mobs in the first 10 minutes of the game having upwards of 40 HP. We are currently in late mid-game and holy it's absurd. EVERYTHING has at least triple digit health with player equipment just not scaling well enough. The Wither fight was absolutely miserable, since it is immune to arrows and the Wither Reincarnated mod causes it to float away from the player, so that you cannot even hit it with a sword, but the worst part is the instant death laser. Cataclysm bosses (which are mandatory for progression) are also insufferable, as they heal up upwards of 300 health for seemingly no reason whenever they get a hit AND they deal outrageous amounts of damage. I had full Prot IV equivalent of Netherite Armor and I STILL got one tapped through a pool of 60 health total. A lot of recipes were also changed and resources were moved around, which is good, except for the fact the recipes are far from intuitive, with resources for basic and early items from a certain mod requiring pretty much mid- to late-game resources (looking at you Mekanism). Overall everyone is quite disappointed with MCE2 and we are likely to abandon the playthrough if things don't get any better.

Good and fun early game! Easy to ease players into modded minecraft, but post nether, the game simply becomes unfun. The Great Below spawns barely any osmium, so mekanism is nearly an impossibility without permanent invisibility from iron's spells. Some bosses are either bugged or simply deal too much damage, especially for that stage of the game. Some bosses that are required to enter the end (most cataclysm bosses) are extremely buffed to the point of being nigh unkillable. It simply isn't fun anymore to play this.

This modpack has potential but it holds so many baffling decisions where there was otherwise a lot of effort put into the modpack. The UX is pretty awful; there's ore/ingot unification, but they never removed items from JEI or their tags, so you'll still always see them in recipes and its VERY annoying. The devs never disabled other mods' food tooltips, so you'll see Quark and Obscure API's food tooltips on top of Appleskin's. The lack of polish in UX and mod selection left a pretty bad impression.

Fighting bosses with combat dodges and Better Combat feels good, but regular mobs that spawn in the dark are what killed me the most because their attacks aren't telegraphed and many of them practically one-shot if you haven't made Tinkers' armor. Thankfully, enemies actually can't one-shot you in this modpack it has a death-gate mechanic, where your health gets set to half a heart before dying, but you can still die if you get hit with another attack.

The gear pacing on paper is alright, but there's such an insane amount of materials to sort through for Tinkers' that you'll quickly get overwhelmed and sit there for hours pondering what armor/tools you're even able to make at your stage of the game. I would've rather had a much simpler gear progression in the early-midgame. Tinkers' weapons are also insanely outclassed by the cleaver and its not even close. Corail's Tombstone is also extremely powerful for no good reason? It can repair Tinkers' stuff with minimal effort, even for Mithril which is a pretty rare material in this pack (too rare imo).

MC Eternal 2 is bloated to high hell with things you'll never use. You can get infinite food with the Eternal Steak, Infinity Ham, or Sack of Sating, all while the modpack has 15+ Farmers Delight addons. I played this modpack on a server with 7 people and no one has made a farm yet after a collective ~40+ hours in the pack. There's an insane amount of mods that just don't need to be in this modpack at all and wouldn't be missed because people aren't using them:

  • Farmers' Delight & Addons
    • I love Farmers Delight but not when you can just get an Infinity Ham on day one.
  • Vampirism
    • Who still uses and enjoys this mod?
  • Cloud Storage
    • The structures for its progession are so incredibly rare that it may as well not be in the pack
  • Chipped
    • Registers way too many blocks for an already ram-starved pack
  • Bumblezone
  • Create: Power Grid
    • One of the most complex mods, maybe ever? and it's in a modpack designed for casual players. Why??? Not to mention it's very broken
  • x For Blockheads
    • No one's cooking or farming anything

I can keep going on honestly. The only reason I haven't given this a lower score is because it's fun with friends and they've put an effort to make it that way. I dont normally like Better Combat, but the boss fights are fun and the "combo" I have to do with the cleaver for big damage made it at least a little bit more thoughtful than vanilla. Most mobs however, are still balanced and animated for sword + shield combat.

I was a huge fan of MCEternal years back. So I was super excited to hear this being worked on and released. It is a great pack. It has a really comfy, cozy, and eccentric aesthetic to it that I enjoy. Effort was put in and it's noticeable. On launch it was a little barren on quests. Sure there were quite a few but some gaps. It is more filled now but still could use some more work in that department. It i s a great pack receiving frequent updates but I'd consider it in a late beta right now. For sure worth a play at this point in time but it will continue maturing with time.

Just like the first MC Eternal, this pack is big and has a good amount of everything.

The quest book is quite nice when it comes to both introducing players to certain mods and setting larger goals for completionists. Things like entering the nether or the end require a bit more work, but due to the increased difficulty that comes with completing those milestones, the prerequisites make sense. Otherwise, following the quests is not required if you do not want to.

There are different modes that players enter when progressing through certain points like entering the nether or defeating the ender dragon. The main effect this has is causing more dangerous mobs to spawn around players who have entered more difficult modes, which keeps combat interesting where it would otherwise be either too difficult when starting out or too easy once you have geared up. Beware of dragons.

Some mods have had recipe tweaks for balancing, such as mechanism only being possible after defeating the wither, but all changes I have seen make sense and have encouraged me to try out some other things instead of just jumping to the most powerful options. Its quite nice when it comes to using a combination of the big, popular mods alongside many smaller mods that I had not seen before.

There are a lot of mods, you need a pretty beefy computer.

MCE2 has quickly become my favourite modpack as well as my go-to Minecraft experience. I have sank many hours into this modpack and it feels like I've still only scratched the surface.

Out of all of the other modpacks, MCE2 easily has the best and most fun quest system, which helps me easily keep track of my progress so I don't ever feel overwhelmed.

The bosses can be challenging but they're always extremely rewarding.

It runs really well for me and all my friends. And with great multiplayer support features like personal loot.

Exploration in MCE2 is also second to none. There is always something new to see, whether it's an interesting looking village, a new mob or a boss structure - the world is always fresh and exciting and just so relaxing to explore.

All my friends play it differently, it can be a grind-fest mission to space or a cozy farming/fishing simulator. A dungeon crawler or a completionist playground. It's up to you really.

the modpack has a nice charm to it , and has some enjoyable moments. but it does really feels unfinished compared to similar modpacks and mce1. i am sure that with time and effort this modpack will be amazing. it will just take time :D

Disclaimer: I mostly played this pack with friends and this is how I personally enjoy experiencing Minecraft in general. So this review is definitely biased towards coop/multiplayer over solo play.

As the pack's official description says, there is something for everyone. Minecolonies, tinker's construct, create, vampirism, some magic, cooking, and the list goes on. :) This makes it very appealing for friend groups with different tastes to come together and play it, and even open the server to the public. On top of this, the quest book brings it all together and creates synergies and a sense of purpose which is important, imo, to keep players engaged and to have a clearer direction.

I also love the fact that there are constant updates and improvements, which makes me periodically come back naturally to see what's new.

The only slight problem I faced as a host is RAM usage, but I think this is a general problem with larger mods. Although I still think it can be mitigated with some further config/mods aimed at optimizations.

Fantastic pack with lots of attention to detail, love, and passion. MCE1 was my favorite pack ever and this one is well on its way to replace that.

Quests are a core part of the  MC Eternal experience, thus we have built our Quests from the ground up.

The Quest Book starts with a Mysterious Letter from an unknown character called “The Questmaster

FAQ

What Modloader / Minecraft Version?

Forge 1.20.1!

Will the project receive updates?

Yes, expect regular updates. There are many plans and updates currently in the works! Be on the lookout for new stuff!

Where can I get support?

Join our discord to receive hands-on support, please be patient with our discord staff as they might not have all of the answers just yet, especially since the modpack is new!

Can I report bugs?

Yes please do, use our issue tracker over on GitHub. I will review the report and try to have it fixed ASAP.

Minimum Requirements

MC Eternal 2 is a heavy modpack, we've made sure it has enough content for many playthroughs and although every precaution has been taken to ensure you have a smooth experience we suggest you play on a capable PC.

We suggest you have at least 16GB of RAM with 8-10GB dedicated to the client and a relatively modern CPU.

If you plan on using shaders, make sure your GPU supports Oculus.

Can I pregen my world?
Yes! The pack ships with Chunky which lets you pregen your world to curb pesky Worldgen lag!

I can't seem to play without lag!

If you've followed the tips above and still are suffering from poor performance, it might be wise to play on a server!

When playing Multiplayer the server carries a lot of the CPU and memory burden.
