Description
Welcome to OthersideCraft ❗

Made with <3 by tealore24.
Inspired by BelovodieCraft by Domovishche6986.
Core & World Generation 🌹
- Beta‑style terrain: Amplified height variation with zero generated structures (no villages, strongholds, witch huts, jungle temples, nether fortresses, etc.). Monster rooms with spawners and chests will still generate.
- Loading indicator: Added a progress bar during world creation.
- Hunger mechanic removed: Food restores health directly, true to the classic Beta experience (note: rotten flesh now puts Poison effect on the player for 5 seconds).
- No coordinates: You start with a simple compass (which always points North) and an Antique Atlas that dynamically draws a map as you explore the world.

- Unrestricted progression: No recipe book and no achievement system.
- Beauty in simplicity: No End dimension, Ender Dragon, End Cities, or Elytra.
Travel & Traversal 🪁
- Backpacks: Your inventory starts with only 9 visible slots; backpacks unlock the other 27 slots.

- Paraglider: Glide safely from high altitudes.

- Grappling hook: Rapid vertical climbing and traversal.

- Vehicle coupling: Link boats and minecarts together using springs.

- Immersive horse controls: Riding is significantly more responsive and realistic.
- Backported mechanics: Fast swimming mechanics and a reduced sneak hitbox (1.5 blocks).
- Portable rest: Sleeping bags and hammocks allow you to sleep through the night without resetting your spawn point.

Combat, Physics & Explosives 🏹
- Throwable TNT: Right-click while holding the flint and steel in the other hand to throw TNT. Both TNT and creepers can now deal underwater explosion damage.
- Improved melee: Sword swings can hit entities through tall grass without breaking it.
- Realistic explosion physics: Destroyed blocks fly in all directions with realistic physics.
- Crossbows (backported): The heir to the classic bow from 1.14.
- New arrow types: Explosive and torch arrows.

- Unobtrusive shields: Shields are lowered on the screen to improve visibility.
- Item drop physics: Dropped items fall with realistic weight and momentum.
- Nether changes: Blazes spawn naturally throughout the Nether, allowing you to obtain blaze rods for brewing even without fortresses.
- Enhanced fire: Utilizes Better Burning mod mechanics.
- Sword blocking: Return of the additional sword feature from 1.8 PvP.
Inventory & Storage 💼
- Crafting tables: Items remain inside the grid when the UI is closed, and the current recipe is visually displayed on top of the block.
- XP storage: Furnaces accumulate and store XP (backported mechanic).
- Carryable storage: Pick up chests, hoppers, dispensers, and droppers (shift + right‑click) without breaking them and dropping their contents.
- Compact chests: Chests can be placed directly adjacent to each other without needing a one‑block gap.
- Trash slot: Added a dedicated trash slot to the inventory UI.
- Mouse tweaks: Fast and intuitive item management (drag, shift‑click).
- Boat storage: Chests can be placed in boats.
Interaction & QoL 🐀
- Sitting: Right‑click to sit on stairs and slabs.
- Easy harvest: Right‑click to harvest crops. Right‑click a snow layer with a shovel to instantly remove it.
- Dirt to grass: Use seeds on a dirt block to grow grass.
- Free repairs: Anvils no longer require XP to use.
- In‑game gallery: Browse your screenshots directly using the built‑in viewer.
- Pet interactions: Right‑click tamed dogs to pat them.
- Instant building: Removed block placement delay.
- Improved sign editing: Right‑click to edit text on a sign after it has been placed.
- Fast ladders: Look down while on a ladder to slide down quickly.
- Double doors: Adjacent doors open simultaneously when interacting with one.
Other Tweaks from the Quark Mod 🪓
- Pistons can push/pull items and move block entities (tile entities).
- Added new vanilla‑style stairs, slabs, and walls in various materials.
- Enhanced, more realistic fire visual effects.
- Map tooltips and map markers added (place an ink sac and the map in the crafting grid).
- No potion shift (the inventory GUI no longer shifts sideways when under status effects).
- Improved shift‑click crafting behavior.
- Items will visually flash shortly before despawning.
- Armor stands generate with arms by default.
- Axes instantly break leaf blocks.
- Baby zombies now burn in sunlight.
- Chickens periodically shed feathers.
- Right‑click dirt with a shovel to create a dirt path.
- Wool can be dyed and re‑dyed into any color.
- Endermen anti‑cheese: They will actively break blocks if you try to hide under a 2‑block‑high ceiling.
- Hoes harvest a 5×5 area of crops.
- Slabs can be crafted back into full blocks.
- Stair recipes yield 8 stairs instead of 4.
- Slime blocks bounce entities off walls, not just floors.
- Squids defend themselves by blinding you with ink.
- Wet sponges can be instantly dried by placing them in the Nether.
- Note blocks play mob sounds when a corresponding mob head is placed on top.
Crafting & Resource Overhauls 🪓
- Wooden tools removed: Wooden tools are removed — you cannot mine stone with them.
- Stone tools overhaul: Now require flint instead of cobblestone (tip: flint drop rates from gravel have been increased to 40%).
- A new use for rotten flesh: frying in a furnace produces bone meal.
- Uncraftable items: Beacons (no fortresses = no wither skeletons = no nether stars) and Eyes of Ender (to prevent crafting End Crystals).
- Added custom recipes for: Saddles, horse armor, chainmail armor (can be crafted from iron bars), enchanted golden apples, sponges, slimeballs, strings, and mossy cobblestone & stone bricks (can be crafted from grass, not just vines).

- Netherrack drops: Mining netherrack has a 10% chance to drop nether wart.
- Backported items & mechanics:
- Copper ore, copper tools, and a full copper armor set.
- Scaffolding (can be made from regular sticks instead of bamboo (there are no bamboo plants in 1.12.2)).
- Campfires cannot be crafted in a grid. Assemble them on the ground — shift + right‑click to place sticks, then use flint to ignite (tip: you can color the smoke with a dye).
Visuals & Environment ✨
- 3D skins: Voxel second‑layer skins display as 3D overlays instead of flat textures.
- Dynamic capes: Capes animate and flow in the wind.
- Cool trees: Overhauled trees with variable trunk shapes, dynamic branches, and falling branch physics (new items from Dramatic Trees are included).
- Improved fire rendering: More immersive and dynamic lighting/textures.
- UI blur: The background seamlessly blurs when the inventory, chat, or any menu is opened.
- Continuous soundtrack: Removes long, awkward pauses between C418 music tracks.
- Realistic sound physics: Audio is dynamically muffled by distance and physical obstacles.
- Ambient audio: Immersive nature sounds, including birds, wind, and weather.
- Enhanced vegetation: Denser foliage and detailed ground cover.
- Built-in shaders: Tweaked Sildur's Enhanced Default shaderpack is included by default.
