Icons for your quest book, your rewards or anything you wish for.
And a complete quest book in the style of FTB Quests: chapters, quest maps, tasks, rewards, loot crates, teams and an in-game editor.
New in 1.3: 470 icons (letters, numbers, symbols, tiers and every chapter theme), 56 quest-map pictures and an in-game editor with forms and pickers, so nobody has to write SNBT. On Minecraft 26.3 and 26.2.

New in 1.3: edit in game

The in-game editor: the quest map, the quest form, a task form and the icon picker

Click Edit in the book (operators). Right-click the map for a new quest, drag to move, Shift-drag to link two quests, Ctrl to select several. Every quest, task, reward, chapter, group, reward table and picture has its own form; a typo turns the field red instead of breaking the book. Undo with Ctrl+Z.

Import from FTB Quests

Copy config/ftbquests/quests, run /quests import ftbquests for a preview, then /quests import ftbquests run

Works with the books of FTB Quests for 1.20, 1.21 and 26.1. Quest progress is not imported: players start the book fresh.

The icon library

All 470 icons by category: letters, numbers, symbols, arrows, status, interface, tiers, ranks, progress, tech, magic, nature, food, combat, exploration, dimensions, mining, building, storage, economy, social, time and the classic icons

Each category has its creative tab and an item tag such as #questsicons:icons/letters, so FTB Quests and other quest mods find them too. Do whatever you want with them and be creative. Want a custom icon? Give me the pixel art and I will add it :D

Every new player gets a Quest Book on the first join. Locked quests stay grey, finished ones turn green.

Details: requirements, commands, teams and quest files

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.3 with Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, or Minecraft 26.2 with Fabric Loader 0.18.4 or newer. Fabric API. On a server, install it on the server and on every client.

Commands

  • Everyone: /quests open and /quests team info | create | invite | join | leave. Operators: reload, givebook, complete, reset and import ftbquests [preview | run | merge] [folder]. /questbook works the same.
  • Joining a team replaces your progress with the team's. Leaving starts you over with empty progress.

Quest files

  • Commas are optional. IDs are 16-digit hex numbers or any readable name.
  • Text takes & colour codes, translation keys like {mypack.quest.title} and JSON text. Pictures: {image:namespace:path.png width:120 height:60}.
  • Rewards can go to the whole team (team_reward) or be claimed on their own (auto).

In-game editor (operators)

  • Map: right-click for New quest here, Paste, Add picture here and the chapter settings; right-click a quest for Edit, Choose icon, Copy, Duplicate, Move to chapter, links and Delete (click twice).
  • Drag quests (Snap on/off in the top bar), Shift-drag from one quest to the next to link them, click a line to remove it, Ctrl-click or Ctrl-drag to select several. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Delete and Ctrl+Z (Undo) work in edit mode.
  • Chapter list: + Chapter, + Group, drag chapters to reorder them, right-click a chapter or group for its form. The top bar has Book (settings) and Tables (reward tables and loot crates).
  • Click a task or reward icon in the quest window to choose its icon. Every change is saved to the SNBT files and sent to every player at once.

FTB Quests import

  • preview (the default) changes nothing and writes config/questsicons/ftbquests-import-report.txt. run replaces the book, merge keeps your own chapters and adds the FTB ones. Both back up your quest files to config/questsicons/backups/ first.
  • The folder is config/ftbquests/quests by default; an instance folder, a config folder or a full path works too.
  • Fluid, energy, game stage and KubeJS tasks become checkmark tasks with a clear title. Currency, game stage and KubeJS rewards are skipped. The report lists every case and every id of a mod that is not installed.

The Dream Star in Dreamcraft

  • 2 Ametrine Ingots, a Quest Crown, a netherite wizard staff or the Netherite Holy Staff, a Nether Star, a Lapotronic Energy Orb, a Tamacraft Heart, a Dragon Egg or Dragon Head and the Heart of the Tide. Hoppers cannot take it from the pedestal.
