Easy to understand, easy to play, and pretty much just a really fun modpack with your friends, i would 100% recommend this, its not one of those 1000 hour modpacks that have a billion quests, its a one time play modpack that takes around 4-6 hours to beat, its really fun and even the owner is an extremely nice person. would recommend trying it with your friends 10/10

This is such a fun modpack to play once I got used to the controls and objectives. My experience is limited, but I ended up having a ton of fun with the werewolf. The feel of combat is great, with backstabs and stealth that make it feel more complete than standard combat. The weapons add a nice touch as well since they're diverse enough to give different combat styles for each class. The aesthetics of the modpack makes this stand out the most, especially with the more dark fantasy elements of the setting. The models for each of the classes are phenomenal as well, which is a shame since the werewolf model's head obstructs your view when you're casting certain spells (though you're not limited to those models and can change them). Other than that, it's a very creative interpretation on Minecraft-esque creatures. The actual mechanics of the modpack very much scratches that roguelike itch while feeling like something totally unique.
There are a few minor annoyances that I did experience, which aren't deal breakers, but are something to keep in mind. Objectives can be very far away, with my best run having two objectives being over 5k km in opposite directions from each other. Some of the classes, like the vampire and werewolf, have some strong movement, but it still makes the distances feel sluggish to cross. This gets even worse in the Nether if you spawn in a pocket somewhere and need to mine out, especially if you didn't find or craft a pickaxe since you can only get the materials for one (or just find one) from chests and drops (excluding the wanderer class). Thankfully, there's a good amount of enemies strewn around that makes the exploration more interesting, so it's not that big of an issue. While I really like the enemies, some of them feel iffy, mainly the witch. The witch is fairly rare, which makes this issue not that prevalent, but it's such an annoying enemy. It can use the ISS Blackhole spell semi-frequently and teleports when hit, which can lead to either very quick deaths if you don't have good gear or just being stuck for several seconds. I'd honestly love if witches could cast multiple different spells, though that's just a preference for me.

Vampires Strike Back is an inventive and unique experience in Minecraft. It offers a fun roguelike gameplay loop that you don't see in many other modpacks. It's clear this is a high-effort modpack with incredible aesthetics. I will say it feels like it hasn't reached it's full potential, and it's quite hard at first if you're not good at Minecraft combat or don't utilize all the new mechanics, not sure how beginner-friendly this pack is.

Excited to see where to this goes, but in it's current state it's absolutely worth a try. It's not a long pack so why not!

Its quite an experience, I'm not used to this tipe of modpacks where you don't get items from breaking blocks but it's insanely fun, getting an op weapon on a chest or from looting and then just run around killing everything is SO MUCH fun

I started playing with my friends and we had quite a fun first run (The dessert is a scary place) overall it was pretty fun roguelike experience, once you lose your 10 lives you’re gone so player revive really does play a big role in multiplayer, we all ran it with no issues in a 12GB server and had fun with the mechanics of the modpack, some people might not like the vanilla combat but it was very fun regardless and we’re still learning to play it properly, very good modpack for some daily runs rather than a long day of Minecraft survival, really enjoy the difficulty and low hp at the start with the scaling, overall a fun progression and adventure focus pack with friends.

The pack is really well thought out, ranging from axing a lot of item bloat from decorative blocks to help keep the pacing fast, to having rewarding combat and equipment maintenance. While the vampire character is a bit too fragile for me personally, it's movement is delightful, and there's other character options available to play as, for accessibility or preferencial playstyles. I think it works rather well at its goal of emulating roguelikes.
