Description
🔥 Dragon Mine Z - Better Forms
💥 Terrain destruction, scaled by Battle Power
Three separate triggers, all tied to your real Dragon Mine Z Battle Power, not a flat number:
- Charging ki from empty — the ground starts cracking outward as your power climbs.
- Completing a transformation — an instant crater the moment the form finishes, sized to your current Battle Power.
- Holding the transform key to charge — the same crater grows gradually as the meter fills, and briefly grants flight so you don't fall through your own hole.
Craters cap out at a fixed size, respect land claims/protection automatically, and can be toggled to disable just the transformation triggers if you want less digging without losing the rest of the mod.
📏 Size scaling that reflects your real power
Your character visibly widens as your base, untransformed Battle Power rises — purely cosmetic (hitbox never changes), and driven by your core stats rather than whatever form you're currently wearing, so transforming doesn't double up with it.
✨ Aura that reacts to how you play, not just a menu
- Transforming turns your aura on and leaves it on; powering down turns it off — no more digging through the wheel every fight.
- Flying fast turns your aura on too, even in base form, and fades it back out a few seconds after you slow down — the same fade you get from the wheel's own toggle.
- A fully rebindable hotkey toggles the aura directly, doing exactly what the wheel's aura button does, in one keypress.
⚡ Kaioken x100, revived
Dragon Mine Z's own code already builds a complete Kaioken x100 tier — it's just never actually registered, so it's never been reachable. Restored using DMZ's own real numbers, unlocked at Kaioken skill level 6. On top of that, solo Kaioken's HP drain now tapers toward zero as your base Battle Power climbs — stack it on a real transformation and you still pay full price, but running it alone gets easier to sustain the stronger you get.
🦍 Oozaru attacks that actually fit the form
Transformed into Oozaru or Golden Oozaru, wave-type techniques (Kamehameha-style attacks) fire from the giant ape's actual mouth instead of its hands, and skip the human hands-back charging pose entirely — no more a fifty-foot ape striking a person-sized casting stance. Every other kind of ki attack, and every other form, is untouched.
📖 Documented in-game
If you also run DMZ Wiki, this mod's own entry (Dragon Mine Z - Better Forms) shows up automatically — no setup, nothing to install, it's just there.
⌨️ Usage
Everything above runs automatically once installed — transform, fly, or charge ki and you'll see it. The one manual step: bind the aura hotkey yourself from Controls > Key Binds > Dragon Mine Z - Better Forms (unbound by default so it can't collide with anything else in your modpack, I personally use "Y").
⚙️ Configuration
Nearly everything is retunable after install, no rebuild needed:
- Per-world server configs (
serverconfig/): destruction radius/depth/cooldowns and the transform-only toggle, Kaioken's drain-taper curve and x100 skill cost, fast-fly aura's fade-out timing. - Instance-level client config (
config/): size-scaling curve (floor/cap Battle Power, max scale, curve shape).
Curve-shaped values include a worked example right in the config comment showing exactly how the exponent changes the growth curve, so you don't have to guess.
📋 Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge 47.4.10+
- Dragon Mine Z 2.1.3+ (required — this is an addon for it, not a standalone mod)
- GeckoLib (already a hard dependency of Dragon Mine Z itself, so nothing extra to install if DMZ already runs)
- Server-side gameplay + client-side visuals — install on both server and client for the full experience
