Jade's Additional Resources (JAR) is a mod that adds, as the name implies, more recipes. These recipes are designed to not break progression in any way, and simply provide more convenient ways to obtain certain items.
Why
Recently, I was playing through one of the ATM modpacks, and I was about to craft something but realised I needed a very small amount of calcite. Of course, I checked if I had any, or if it was craftable, but in the end I had to travel a few hundred blocks to find a mountain biome with calcite in it. That is why this mod exists; to make those random items easier to obtain, rather than needing to go on a side quest every time you need some item.

Yea. Port it, use it on a Curseforge modpack, do whatever you want with it. Feel free to use any spritework I make for this mod in anything aswell.

Made using intelliJ IDEA 2025.3.1 for the modding & Aseprite for the sprites.

Okay so I put "automation" and "education" as tags, but I feel like they need explaining. This mod falls under the automation category, since the recipes can make certain items easier to get in bulk (calcite can easily be farmed with a cobble generator and skeleton farm). It also falls under "educational" since recipes are based off real-life facts - for example, burning shells can actually be used to give you calcium carbonate, which can be used to make concrete.

Concrete Powder If you don't have much sand, you can use calcium carbonate as a replacement. -
Cobweb Recipe Every recipe mod has this recipe. -
Obsidian Recipe Lava + Water = Obsidian. -
Blackstone Recipe Similar to the diorite recipe in vanilla, however it uses coal instead of quartz. -
Mud Recipe This makes it much easier to bulk-craft mud when using mods such as AE2. -
Reversible Glass Recipe You make 16 glass panes with 6 glass, so it's convenient to be able to craft them back. -
Deepslate Recipe Deepslate is dark gray, cobble is gray, blackstone is dark, dark + gray = dark gray. -
Calcite Recipe This recipe uses calcium carbonate, which can be obtained from smelting shells or bones. -
Tuff Recipe I'm kinda surprised there isn't a way to craft tuff in vanilla, I think they just forgot they made recipes for andesite, diorite and granite. Also this is 4 ingame, I'm just too lazy to make a new image. -
Reversible Snow Recipe It's inconvenient to need to place it down to turn it back into 4 snowballs, so why not be able to craft it? -
Crude Diamond We all know how strong Steve is. He can crush coal into a lab-made diamond, which isn't good enough for armour but can be used in a Jukebox. -
Jukebox Recipe See, you could waste a diamond on a Jukebox, or make a crude diamond with your coal. -
Calcite Recipe You can make calcite with calcium carbonate, so it makes sense you can turn it back. -
Reversible Amethyst Recipe Need amethyst shards? Just mine a geode and turn the blocks into shards.
