It's just a good modpack all around. Interesting and engaging story/scenario, great choice of mods, great quests. The limited space is challenging without being annoying or tedious.
Not necessarily an expert pack but it's so well made that it feels like one.

It's been a while since I've actually "beaten" this modpack, so this is more of a retrospective rather than a hot-off-the-press review, but Compact Claustrophobia gave me a similar feeling of nostalgia that playing Minecraft beta as a kid gave me for some reason.
In terms of progression, it is one of the most innovative packs I have ever played and every step of the way to completion felt like an engaging puzzle to solve. It's grindy enough to make you stay a while, but not grindy enough to make you feel like you're doing chores if you play your cards right. Additionally, every time the modpack started to become a bit tedious, there would be a perfectly placed breakthrough tech (e.g. bigger compact machine or better way to make previous compact machines) that allowed you to do previous things in a much easier fashion which helped tremendously to keep me playing. I haven't finished the final completionist chapter yet, but from what I've heard the pack falls off hard after you break the bedrock box (as someone else said, literally a useless DLC) so I'll count my run as complete because that was my goal all along. The pack has a clear end goal and is a good challenge to sink over 100 hours of time into.

I've now been psychologically conditioned to build every base as small as possible because of this pack.
This was actually surprisingly one of my friendgroups favorite packs. It's been a few years since I've played it so I'm not sure how much I can comment on, but I will go ahead and spoil one of my favorite features, as I'm not sure how it was done and it's someting I've never seen anywhere else.

Upon each chapter completion there will be a "bonus quest" which usually gave pretty decent rewards, they'll have you teleporting to a special dimension with minigame like mechanics.
Such as: a parkour world, a timed expert survival world, puzzles, and more.
It's super inventive and I love the way this one mechanic gives you a lil break from the confusing monotony of progressing in an tiny houser's skyblock.

If you're new to modded Minecraft and looking for a challenging experience, then the Compact Claustrophobia modpack is an excellent choice. This modpack is designed to push players to their limits by placing them in confined spaces.

Compact Claustrophobia runs incredibly smoothly, even on lower-end systems. This means that you can focus on the gameplay without worrying about lag or crashes.

In terms of aesthetics, Compact Claustrophobia is decent, but not exceptional. The modpack's focus on cramped spaces means that there isn't much room for elaborate builds or landscapes.

The balance of Compact Claustrophobia is also worth mentioning. While the modpack is challenging, it never feels unfair or impossible. Players are given enough resources and tools to survive, but they will need to be clever and strategic in terms of space management.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Compact Claustrophobia modpack to anyone who is new to modded Minecraft and looking for a thrilling, challenging experience. With its excellent performance and solid balance, this modpack is sure to provide a few hours of entertainment.

The pack's main mechanic is space, progress in the pack typically means getting a bigger area to play around with and getting enough space for new multiblocks, it is an ingenious concept.
the only problem i have with it is that later on automating making compact machines requires opencomputers which is tough but it's not even technically required for progression.
i think gimmick packs are vital for the modpack scene since if every experience was the same it would be boring.

Description

Trapped in a Compact Machine with nothing except your fists - How to escape

In Compact Claustrophobia you start trapped inside of the smallest compact machine (a room measuring only 3x3x3). From here you have to somehow escape using the power of tech and nuclear fusion! This is an expert, skyblock-like, tech-oriented pack that aims to keep a tight consistent experience. Contains custom scripting and items to make the progression better.

If you want to host a server yourself, this is probably the easiest it can get

To complete the challenge presented by Compact Claustrophobia you'll need to experiment with a few key mods. Some important ones are:
Compact Machines, Nuclearcraft, Immersive Engineering and very importantly - Click Machine!
If this looks to you like the idea of a good base, this pack is for you!

Special thanks to the developers of Scavenge and CraftTweaker without the pack wouldn't have been possible. Special thanks to NullAngel and FireSoul for sharing their creations which helped build glitch_0
Playthrough from Ector Vynk of an early version of the pack

IMAGE ALT TEXT

Q: I can't move or place block in the bedrock room!? A: You need to create a vanilla world, normal or superflat
Q: Do you have a discord? A: Yes discord
Q: I updated to 1.3 and lost my base. Check the chapter in questbook called Compact Tech Support. Use this command: /compactmachines3 machines view and you should be able to get it back
Q: My pack is running slow?! A: Some people get double fps with optifine - give it a go

If you feel like giving a coffee or icecream feel free (:
