Just like Create Aeronautics which this powers, Sable is an incredibly capable and impressive mod. The API is surprisingly easy to use for such a complex mods and the mixins cause less issues that you would expect for such an intrusive addition.

Unfortunately, Sable does get unstable if you attempt to enter the "shipyard", which is a position in every dimension millions of blocks out which actually stores your contraptions. This can be an issue on servers without a world border, however it is minor due to how far out this shipyard is situated. My only other complaint is how floaty the physics can feel for small contraptions.

The performance of this mod cannot be faulted given how tolerant it is of such a large number of physics objects and how complex these interactions can be at times.

Integrations between mods utilising Sable will never cease to interest me, and playing with one of the mods that utilise this physics engine is a must to try out what it can offer, I highly recommend it.

About

Description

Jenga Tower Falls Over

Sable

Sable is a library mod that adds sub-levels to Minecraft. Sub-levels are moving regions of blocks, block-entities, and entities that remain interactive while assembled. Sable contains a physics pipeline (based on the Rapier physics engine written in Rust) that allows sub-levels to move with physics and react to changes in the world.

Sable does not add any content to the survival game, or any manner of constructing sub-levels in survival.

Use /sable to assemble, modify, and query sub-levels.

⚠️ Compatibility Warning

Sable is an incredibly intrusive mod. It makes extensive use of mixins, and is prone to extensive compatibility issues with other mods.

Thanks

  • Dimforge maintainers and contributors for their amazing work on the Rapier physics engine, included in the default physics pipeline
  • Eriksonn for the sub-level splitting region algorithm, floating blocks, and amazing math wizardry
  • Ocelot for the fancy sub-level renderer and an incredible amount of optimization and API help
  • Cyvack for many Create compatability fixes and features, assembly help, and general development
  • NotSoEpic for lift math, compatability fixes, bug-fixes, and lots of general development
  • KyanBirb for assets, compatability fixes, bug-fixes and lots of general development
  • Cake for bug-fixes and general development help
