I downloaded and played the quests a bit has a nice homeworld but then you spawn to overworld and the cool factor fades away the 3rd person combat while cool its hard to play when the space you have is small like under trees when you spawn in a forest biome and even a bit of the towers.

I did a few quests of one tower and then uninstalled cause of the find adventure guilds quest but zero quest markers for it, im not exploring a infinite world put some borders on, and here isnt any weapon progression just a oh yeah heres a list of all weapons without the idea of where to start do you want me to play minecraft and then do the modpack or do you want me to play your quests, it could benefit with a place in the homeworld to build a base.

Vampires Strike Back is an inventive and unique experience in Minecraft. It offers a fun roguelike gameplay loop that you don't see in many other modpacks. It's clear this is a high-effort modpack with incredible aesthetics. I will say it feels like it hasn't reached it's full potential, and it's quite hard at first if you're not good at Minecraft combat or don't utilize all the new mechanics, not sure how beginner-friendly this pack is.

Excited to see where to this goes, but in it's current state it's absolutely worth a try. It's not a long pack so why not!

This pack plays really well and smoothly, it's clear a huge amount of effort and creativity was put into this! I had a lot of fun playing through the early game and a tad of mid-game. Performance was really solid, the art direction and aesthetics are inspiring, and the story was fun! The whole aspect of the world machine is really cool and reminds me of Satisfactory. Personally it didn't hold me for long enough to get to end-game, but that's more about me than the pack for the most part. Overall definitely give this pack a try.

The way Quark Oddities implements a backpack is really unique, and I vastly prefer it compared to other backpack mods for adventure packs. The other backpack mods are either OP, offer too many unneeded features, or unintuitive.

This backpack simply expands your inventory in a clean and visually polished way. That's it! Simple!

I also really like the totem of holding, and prefer to use it compared to other grave mods. It's implemented well, but doesn't offer enough config options, which is why Quark: RotN Edition was made, a fork a Quark that I actually use and recommend if you're looking for more configuration with Quark/Quark Oddities.

Mowzie's Mobs is a classic at this point, offering really unique and highly polished mobs with actual unique mechanics. I do believe the potential for this mod isn't reached, the Wroughtnaut for example is quite boring and could use more interesting mechanics, it's not super fun to just be waiting for it to attack.

I will say, this mod is used A LOT, to the point where I'm almost sick of seeing it, especially on older versions. It's in basically every RPG modpack. I think there are a lot of newer boss/hostile mob mods that are more worth trying out, even on 1.12.

Genuinely one of the best horror mods out there, mostly because this mod doesn't just try to be a horror mod, it's simply a side-effect of the aesthetics and concept. The main draw of Dimensional Doors is that it allows you to have your own small pocket dimension to put whatever you want in it, but that's not why I enjoy it. The maze dimensions, the portals, the rifts, and the coolest of all: the limbo dimension .

Honestly this is one of those mods you need to go in blind. There's so much potential for modpack developers with this, and I feel it's not reached it's full potential. My main gripe is it doesn't offer as many configuration options as I'd hope, with the ability to make your own maze dimensions, change what happens, more limbo configuration, etc. I believe a whole modpack could be based around Dimensional Doors if there were only more content, or at least offer robust configurability.

Someone really needs to make a unique reality-bending story-based modpack featuring this mod!

This pack has the perfect exponential growth feeling I love in Skyblock. Every time you think you have everything and can't be stopped, you get the next impossible-looking challenge.
The Above-and-Beyond-Style is great, and this pack was perfect for coming out of Create-only packs to the larger tech Mod world.
Sadly, the final chapters didn't work for me; even with a giant atomic reactor, the antimatter production took ages, and the next challenges didn't look that interesting. But until then, this was one of my greatest gaming experiences ever.

DeceasedCraft is a really well made pack and deserves a lot of the praise it gets. The gameplay loop is fun (looting/exploring, base building, some tech progression), it offers different types of gameplay for different people, and is overall well built out.

I'd definitely recommend playing on a server with friends, but maybe not a community server. I'm not sure I would've enjoyed this pack much at all without friends.

Personally I didn't end up playing it too much as it didn't hold my interest, but that's more to do with me than the modpack's quality. Give it a try for sure.

it's worth noting that most of my experience with Embers Rekindled is in the context of the Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons modpack. this is basically that modpack's token tech-that-isn't-tech mod, so to speak. it blends well with exploration, offering structures and enemies that integrate well into the world with organic encounters that pique the user's interest.

Embers Rekindled (and, I suppose, Embers) has a lore-heavy guidebook that gives a lot of hints as to how to progress, but therein lies the problem: it more or less offers only hints. as someone already not good with tech, this made it hard to follow. the realizations I would make after toying with positioning things and placing receptors and figuring things out were--in my case--not enough to outweigh the confusion.

all-in-all, it does a really good job at being tech that isn't tech. but it's still tech, and it's very complicated tech at that.

What is it ?

A mod adding adding about two japanese-themed illagers (with a custom dungeon their appear in) and two new piglin-type mobs .

What does it offer ?

Adds new illagers with their own structure : the Castle (which is very japanese-themed);
These illagers come originally from an older mod called wasabi but were added as part of this mod later.

New illagers and features related to them are discussed here :

The Tengu is a creature from japanese mythology and folklore; here found in raids as well as high on top of the Castle belonging to illagers, this enemy has wings he gladly uses to jump & glide in your direction, quickly getting to you before attacking in melee. This enemy can also use his special leaf to push you away with the power of wind

The Ninjar (you already know what it's going to be) is a more resilient melee ninja-like illager which attacks using a dagger while having the ability to perform weird teleportation moves, or turn himself invisible when needed; I just noticed he is wearing the thief armor set from Minecraft Dungeons, just would like to point it out

This mod also includes piglins in the Nether, both listed here :

The Rude Hog feels like it belongs in Minecraft Legends; this mob was actually first present in Hunter's Return (I mod I reviewed previously), and he rides a special boar in the Nether's Wild (or bastion apparently) while attacking his enemies with his sort of club, which can be obtained after he dies, giving +1 reach and more knockback to foes;
In terms of behavior he doesn't feel all that special, just being the basic concept of a piglin riding a hoglin. He looks really good though

The Burner Hog is a ranged tough mob added to the bastion remnants as a sort of chief, he just attacks with regular fireballs kinda like blazes, which isn't all that interesting

In conclusion

I like this small mod and have seen it around for a while, but never got to really play it;
There's not really any way to configure stuff so it's a bit of an all-or-nothing mod unless you use external mods to disable the new raiders from spawning for example.
I especially like the illagers, but the piglins are fine too even if less interesting I feel. This mod is definitely worth playing , as the mobs look good and mesh well with more fantasy-medieval settings (has potential to work great alongside Illager Additions due to it adding some well-animated japanese-themed illagers).

  • Screenshot 1: Japan x Nether the mod (I like it a lot, but the piglins feel a bit unoriginal gameplay-wise)

What is it ?

A mod adding adding about two japanese-themed illagers (with a custom dungeon their appear in) and two new piglin-type mobs .

What does it offer ?

Adds new illagers with their own structure : the Castle (which is very japanese-themed);

The Rude Hog feels like it belongs in Minecraft Legends; this mob was actually first present in Hunter's Return (I mod I reviewed previously), and he rides a special boar in the Nether's Wild (or bastion apparently) while attacking his enemies with his sort of club, which can be obtained after he dies, giving +1 reach and more knockback to foes;

I like this small mod and have seen it around for a while, but never got to really play it;
There's not really any way to configure stuff so it's a bit of an all-or-nothing mod unless you use external mods to disable the new raiders from spawning for example.
