Minecraft Mod & Modpack Reviews

I originally played this pack in the time where there was a lull in solid modpacks for forge on modern versions and it did satisfy the itch of a large pack with many things to do. Unlike many other fabric pack it is clear there was care put in to making sure that this pack was well put together with good stability and performance.

The quests available in this pack do actually provide something to do, and unlike many kitchen sink packs they do provide a good framework for giving some progression to a collection of mods that might otherwise be difficult to navigate. There is a decent chunk of integration that has put in by the pack devs to additionally make the mods work better together, which is again somewhat rare for fabric packs, especially in the time this pack was made.

My issues start to arise when you look at just how many mods are in this pack, although the pack is called 'All of Fabric', there are many additions which just feel like they're there to satisfy the name of this pack and I never really ended up interacting with. While as a whole the pack is well optimised, I feel world size and launch times could be further improved if some mods were removed.

Overall, a solid pack for it's time, if you like some of the mods in here I'd recommend giving it a shot, although I feel there are better packs out for this version now, such as Raspberry Flavoured.

You'd think after the first pack, LPS would've improved Better MC fabric, but if I'm honest, this pack felt more of a jumble than the first. BMC2 Fabric plays like a pack that was made solely for revenue as it has almost no integration between mods and many mods were added just through discord suggestions before being removed later due to crashes that were reported by users.

To add insult to injury, the fabric Better MC packs, especially these later ones, often mirrored the forge packs as close as possible with the mods available on fabric, seemingly trying to capitalise on the anti-forge sentiment at the time without offering any extra value. The only benefit this pack has over the forge one is performance, though most of that simply comes from the fact it has less mods.

Like it's predecessor, I'd advise you just play All of Fabric instead.

This is a pack I did enjoy playing for the time I played it, it does have mods that properly tie together, which is far better than the BetterMC series, however it doesn't have much in the ways of custom content or integration via KubeJS. This means the pack did get quite stale after a while of playing, and mostly plays like Create. While this pack is fun if you want create themed things, many packs manage to take the same idea and go a whole lot further.

Like many LPS packs, this pack did suffer from some performance and stability issues when I last played it, though admittedly that was quite a while ago. I also felt as if there were some mods which did not fit in the pack as much as they should've done and felt more like hasty addons to bulk up the pack a bit more.

This pack is playable and if you've gone through other create packs, by all means give it a shot. I would recommend packs like All of Create or Craftoria over this pack, however.

As my other reviews for the Better MC series will tell you, this pack often added mods from discord suggestions with little to no testing, resulting in instability and no integration between mods in the pack. This leaves BMC1 Fabric feeling like a random collection of mods rather than a coherent experience and many of the mods in the pack do not at all adhere to what a "vanilla+" pack should.

For a fabric pack, which is often lightweight, this performs atrociously, largely due to how many mods there and the fact many mods included are not of particularly high quality. Mods were only really removed if they were ascertained to cause crashes and performance issues are chalked up to a users computer not being good enough.

I would advise people who want to play a large fabric modpack to play All of Fabric instead as those packs had much more effort put into them.

Medieval MC is similar to Better MC with an additional load of "overhaul" and combat mods added in seemingly randomly.

As with BetterMC, most of the mods in here were added by suggestions from the community in the discord without much thought as to whether they would fit and with no care integrating them into the packs. Mods were added and removed so frequently that it would often cause world corruption on updating and the lag and instability was impossible to ignore.

Even excluding possible instability, this pack takes ages to boot due to the sheer number of mods and becaude no custom content exists to tie the modpack together it just exists as a collection of mods which are mostly good alone but overshadow each other and dont tend to work well in a setting such as this.

I would avoid this pack and go play one that has custom content and tweaks to make mods work well together instead.

This mod often simplifies pack dev for tech packs considerably, helping to prevent manually changing hundreds of recipes to use the "correct" lead ingot.

This mod does have a few issues however, in that it can cause recipe conflicts which can occasionally be hard to track down. This is a minor issue and not really fixable, though it would be nice to have better logging when this occurs.

If you're a pack dev for a tech pack where mods add overlapping ores and ingots you should probably use this mod!

This mod does work and does what is advertises however it makes shulker shells so easy to craft they're probably easier to farm than bundles because of how easy farming amethyst is.

Additionally, as an MCreator mod this mod has far too much overhead and incompatibility for a mod that adds a single recipe. This should just be a datapack.

I wouldn't recommend installing, if you really need a recipe use a datapack or kubeJS.

This mod adds many features which help add more life to some barren areas. Beaches especially are a welcome improvement at in vanilla they just lie as barren expanded of sand like a desert sans cactus.

My favourite feature of this mod might just happen to be the coconut crab who deservingly has a spot in the mod icon. These little critters are a fun addition to beaches while also being useful, their claw can act as a shear if you want.

I do have to say some models like the prickly pear doesn't feel particularly vanilla, though other textures like the coconuts are spot on. I also struggled to find a use for palm planks when birch exists already, however I guess there's no harm in choice.

A fun little mod, if you like extra critters and small additions this mod is for you!

it's a mod that adds compressed blocks, ranging from 1x to 9x compressed. there's not that much to talk about with this, but it's certainly one of my favorite compressed block implementations. that is to say that there are ways to do it i'd favor more that don't yet exist.

a nice alternative to other "loot display" recipe viewer plugins, can do what a bunch of addons do in one bundle. the block drop display is one i find especially useful sometimes. not much else to say about it
