Do you miss those classic Buildcraft-esque quarries? Like tech but tired of mining? Want those 1.7.10 quarry mods on 1.12+? This mod is for you!

There isn't much more to say about it. It uses easy fuels and easy tech, and really helps that mid-game slog.

Good mod all around.

I have loved playing with inventory pets. Some are extremely powerful, with cheap or plentiful or farmable food (so it can perform it's ability forever), while some are quite costly and not very powerful.

I'd say the inventory management part is a bit outdated. The fact that you can't "load" food into an inventory pet instead of just keeping it in a precious and finite inventory slot is meh.

Other than that, very fun mod. Be careful with some of the newer inventory pets i've heard (and experienced) some crashed and issues.

I do have to say that if you haven't tried this mod in a survival world yet, I highly recommend. I know I'm harping about the cons, but it's genuinely a fun and engaging mod.

RL Craft has amazing marketing. While it's a good pack, hardcore survival/adventure/exploration packs have been around for a long time, it seems that RL craft somehow distinguished itself as the "First" or "hardest" modpack of it;s type. While RL craft has gotten a bit more polished over the years, it is still not worth the hype and attention it gets online.

That first paragraph may be a bit harsh, but this is coming from someone that's been modding and using modpacks since 1.6.4 first came out. This is a good modern baseline for these types of modpacks, but for those that have played many modpacks, especially in this genre, it is not a new or very unique experience.

5/10. Play it if you haven't, but a bit overrated.

The first time I played with this modpack, I thought I'd get bored and quit. But then I saw a chainsaw in the crafting options... At that moment, I realized that here it was, the love of my life. SEEING IT IN MY HAND, I COULDN'T STOP PICKING UP ALL THESE MOB HEADS. I FELT THE SATISFACTION THAT I COULDN'T GET FOR SO LONG. I BECAME FRIENDS WITH THE CHAINSAW, AND HER NAME WAS MARLA. SHE WAS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER TALKED TO. I SPENT ALL MY TIME ON HER, AND IN THE END WE GOT MARRIED. SHE LOVES ME, AND I LOVES KILLING. This modpack is top 10/10.

The pack is really well thought out, ranging from axing a lot of item bloat from decorative blocks to help keep the pacing fast, to having rewarding combat and equipment maintenance. While the vampire character is a bit too fragile for me personally, it's movement is delightful, and there's other character options available to play as, for accessibility or preferencial playstyles. I think it works rather well at its goal of emulating roguelikes.

MC Eternal is what you wish all large, kitchen-sink modpacks were like. It's the perfect mix of minecraft-feeling yet distinct, fun, and a huge variety of mods and content.

MC Eternal also has a HUGE amount of quests, in a ton of different categories, (not all locked behind progression milestones), and never leaves your bored or wondering what to do next. I love quests in my modpacks, but only when it's done right. This is one of those instances.

I do also have to say that the quest book/quest system is one of the best around. (For the reasons listed above and below). It just never leaves you bored or confused.

MC Eternal also never leans too hard in any particular direction. It's never too magic-oriented, too tech-oriented, or too vanilla feeling, it has the perfect combination of the best modpacks and best playstyles.

As for cons, it has the same cons as any huge modpack. Not the best performance, a bit overwhelming if you're not ready, and isn't on the most modern versions. Who cares, I'd still say it's one of the best large modpacks around.

Play it if you haven't, I highly recommend it.

While Mutant Creatures was the inspiration, Mutant Monsters takes the concept to a better, modern, higher level.

Mutant Monsters are the mobs that I almost always run from or try to sneak by. Most modded hostile mobs are fine, but these are absolutely terrifying. Even fully geared, it's better to fight strategically, and allows for much more engaging PvE (and PvP if multiplayer) combat.

I have screenshots upon screenshots of memorable fights I've had with mutant monsters: ambushes from massive, 4-legged creepers, world-destroying fights between a mutant skeleton and a mutant creeper, and mutant endermen blocking the exit to my cave.

I highly recommend this mod. Tune the config, make the spawn rates slightly lower, and enjoy a difficult fight and engaging challenge to your modded world!

I stuck onto Optifine for far too long, solely for its zoom feature. With Sodium and the rest, while ease and performance skyrocketed, I missed my built-in zoom feature!

Just Zoom (in my testing) is the most lightweight, best performance, easiest to use, and smoothest zooming "Zoom" mod I've used.
It Doesn't have the usual FPS drop when zooming (like with many other zoom features and mods), and is just so smooth and seamless, it doesn't feel like I'm using a modded feature.

I don't know why you wouldn't use this mod unless you want full realism. Install it, I promise that exploration becomes a whole lot easier and more fun. The minecraft world is basically infinite, see more of it!

Prefab is the most helpful mod for those that want an instant home base during the early game, and for those that dislike building. Even for builders, it's very nice to instantly be able to craft and build farms, mines, buildings, and more.

I very rarely use the mod past the house prefabs. Once it gets to some of the larger buildings, farms, etc., I feel that it becomes not exactly "overpowered", but just a bit too easy (and honestly a bit too much/too massive for singleplayer worlds). Being able to compress dirt and cobblestone, throw in a bucket of water or some torches or a pickaxe and be able to create a fully customizable and massive utility structure is great, but a bit too much and too easy.

The houses are incredible. Fully customizable, custom placement (with preview!) and so many different options, from modern to classic to hobbit hole to a variety of houses for each biome. Makes any modded world so much prettier, easier, more fun, and more unique than than those usual first hours building a wood hut or a mountain hole.

Highly recommend using this mod, even if you only use it for the "starter house" prefab.

RF is a great modpack that specialises in early game and mid-game. Personally i find that at a later level its still a little lacking, i cant put my finger on what tho.
Performance is pretty average for a modpack this size.
