Pros:

Unique Balance: It blends tech and adventure instead of forcing you to choose just one quite well!

Excellent Quest Book: For a modpack of this massive scale, the quest book guides you incredibly well.

Satisfying Progression: Dimension hopping feels great, and the armor progression is highly rewarding.

Automation & Loot: Adding Ultimate Factory for Create makes automation feel limitless. The legendary weapons and artifacts are incredibly unique and fun to collect.

Enemy Variety: The massive variety of monsters means there is always a fresh challenge trying to kill you.

Cons:

Overwhelming Mob Spawns: While the variety is great, the cranked-up spawn rates feel annoying at times. With so much to look at and do, constantly fighting off hordes distracts from the experience, Although I must admit reaching the perfect balance for every situation would be impossible.

Loose Integration: With a modlist this massive, it occasionally feels a bit like "mod slop." A few mods feel thrown in and just sit there without being properly intertwined with the rest of the pack.

Performance: It runs decently for its size, but with this many mods, don't expect it to be silky smooth all the time.

Final Thoughts:
Despite looking like an uncurated mess on paper, Beyond Depth actually pulls it off beautifully. It’s a great, massive experience that has a lot of potential.

Elysium Days is everything you'd expect from a Vanilla+ modpack. There's nothing overly fancy about it, it's just Minecraft but enhanced with a carefully picked selection of the best mods out there. What sets it apart from other similar modpacks is that from the get-go, and up to the endgame, the experience is flawless; I've encountered no bugs, barely any issues or aspects I could criticize about it. I think this might be the best "first" modpack for someone who wants to experience Minecraft with a little more of everything without getting lost in the sauce.

I absolutely love this pack for what it does, but it's not for everyone. If you're looking for a brand new experience with crazy mechanics and new items, look elsewhere. This is Vanilla+ at its best.

the only reason you should fear the nightfall in this modpack is because night-time means you sit inside your house for twenty minutes doing nothing or go outside and die instantly.

gameplay was mildly spooky for about three hours before i realized that the exact same 'scary' noises play everyday at the same time in the same orders. i don't have much to say about that because i think you, the reader, can employ your brain to deduce that's stupid and ruins any tension that was had.

there's also some hyper-OP status effect(?) mobs can get that lets them break blocks and one tore through my house just to kill me while i was sitting around doing nothing. and creepers can explode through walls. so you have to make your walls extra thick or construct a lava moat else you'll get to experience all the fun of tinnitus streamed directly into your ears via mp3 file.

the sanity system is the bane of my existance. why does getting wet make your sanity go down? it's rain it's not going to kill you. sorry to anybody who's afraid of water but i am not. i'd die without water. haha funny joke. being in the dark also makes your sanity go down, which is more understandable, but this doesn't seem to account for handheld light sources (or maybe i set it up wrong?) so if you're strip-mining while holding a lantern your player character will start freaking out even though you can see everything perfectly.

speaking of darkness, if you want to play this you better have a HDR OLED display, because it's impossible to see anything on a regular SDR LCD monitor because of how dark everything is. or just turn off the shader. but that'll make the game even less scary so you might as well just go play a different modpack. i think the average "dweller" or "man from the scary hell biome" mods are actually scarier than this.

if you want to be scared while playing minecraft, add one of those "1/1000 chance for fnaf jumpscare" mods to your game. way scarier than this.

the modpack has a nice charm to it , and has some enjoyable moments. but it does really feels unfinished compared to similar modpacks and mce1. i am sure that with time and effort this modpack will be amazing. it will just take time :D

I absolutely loved Pixelmon, so I was skeptical when cobblemon was announced. That was until I played BCG+

There is something extremely charming about the models, they mesh extremely well into Minecraft without having to forgo important details. The cobblemon regional versions of Pokémon are well designed, especially the different Torterra biomes. Pokémon showdown handles the battles, but catching and using items is done outside the battle UI, making it feel less separated.

What makes cobblemon stand out the most to me is the add-on ecosystem. I love mods that allow others to build on top of the the groundwork, adding "missing" features, compatibility with other mods, or even just fun new content. Cobblemon makes this extremely accessible, allowing creatives to add new pokemon via datapacks.

While I wouldn't add this to every modpack/server, I absolutely adore packs that incorporate cobblemon.

To make it short and clear, this pack is pretty immersive and for it's size, it ran pretty smooth compared to other packs of similar size.

Things that this pack did good:

  1. The Progression, it's clearly semi-linear, there's plenty of armor and weapons, and the modpack clearly defines which is which as they have listed in their tiers. There are notable weapon/armor set that you can get from just farming the sniffers or doing other mundane things and basically skip a huge chunk of the progression tiers, and then you can progression skip again by fighting Ignis with said armor set, and skip yet another tier with it. I like the overall progression due to the fact that it has many sidegrades not just netherite -> iron netherite -> gold netherite, etc.
  2. The Questlines, it's decorated, it's pretty clear, and it pretty much mentions a lot of things regarding the progression. You can see all the curios that you can get and which slots they belong to, you can see all the magic mods and in which part of the progression will they appear, and you can see which armor/weapon/pickaxes belongs to which tier (as in how good they are). There's still some roughness to it, but it's by far, really great, almost like a wiki by itself.

The only thing that i feel like this pack still fell off is in:

  1. The difficulty system. When you start your world, you were given 4 difficulty selections that's separate from the world difficulty that you chose when creating your world. My only issue is that this selection, especially on higher difficulties, just makes enemies into damage sponges... i'd much rather have enemies dealing 5x damage than them having 2x health, but really this is fixable
  2. The tech mods. Yeah it's still pretty basic, just a simple implementation of Create and Mekanism, there's no mundane way to generate resource other than snagging some spawners from Chtonian Dungeons or somewhere else and a lot of things in the modpack will exhaust your resource fast, and you'll be forced to mine for hours end. But yeah, this is a Terraria-like pack anyways, so this is a rather semi-neutral take from me

Overall, very solid modpack, will play till finish (getting the Nightmare Sword)

I really wanted to enjoy this pack as the idea seems really nice, but I don't feel how this is based off of D&D at all even after completing the quest book. The "story" is barely there, a lot of the integration between mods is shallow, and much of the content is poorly balanced. I mostly felt disappointed and underwhelmed by the end of it all. Additionally, don't expect the LunaPixel Discord to be much help, as the moderators are some of the most ban-happy and sensitive I've ever encountered, along with no process for ban appeals. I was banned literally from posting a react to one of the announcements. That was my only interaction in the server whatsoever.

Disclaimer: I mostly played this pack with friends and this is how I personally enjoy experiencing Minecraft in general. So this review is definitely biased towards coop/multiplayer over solo play.

As the pack's official description says, there is something for everyone. Minecolonies, tinker's construct, create, vampirism, some magic, cooking, and the list goes on. :) This makes it very appealing for friend groups with different tastes to come together and play it, and even open the server to the public. On top of this, the quest book brings it all together and creates synergies and a sense of purpose which is important, imo, to keep players engaged and to have a clearer direction.

I also love the fact that there are constant updates and improvements, which makes me periodically come back naturally to see what's new.

The only slight problem I faced as a host is RAM usage, but I think this is a general problem with larger mods. Although I still think it can be mitigated with some further config/mods aimed at optimizations.

Fantastic pack with lots of attention to detail, love, and passion. MCE1 was my favorite pack ever and this one is well on its way to replace that.

Solid kitchen sink pack with great balancing. It's difficult and has plenty of options variety for when you need a break from something. From fishing, farming to bossing and colony building, to making the best Jaffa factory you can.

There's something for everyone in this pack, which makes it great to play with friends or family.
