It's a rough time playing with this mod. It's not hard to play with, it just feels very unbalanced out of the box and strangely paced. This mod tries to add progression to upgrading your armor and trying to roll for specific stats and upgrades, but I always quickly find that most enemies, outside of Apotheosis bosses, aren't hard to fight anymore.

The common spawning of Apotheosis bosses is also annoying! Having bosses spawn in the world at random is just dumb in my opinion, not to mention that sometimes the bosses spawn in inaccessible areas or despawn right away. The default should be to have an item to spawn in these bosses.

All in all, this feels like a mod that gets slapped into a lot of modpacks and tries to take the forefront of combat progression. It doesn't respect other mods when it takes the spotlight.

I can only speak for the 1.20 and 1.21 versions of Mekanism, but I can say with certainty that this mod is awesome! Has a ton of machines that allow for all kinds of automation and ore processing. Gregtech tends to be a little more in-depth, but I think Mekanism hits the casual base perfectly and the mod is approachable with guides! Being able to process ores and multiply the outputs using automation and piping is incredible! Getting into this mod is a treat and I enjoy playing with it! There are times where I get tired of it, but I think that is more related to the "Mekanism: Generators" addon that adds complex reactors!

All in all, it's a fair mod to play with and while I don't think it's necessary, I'm happy to see it when I do!

Backpacks are so necessary in the beginning of a Minecraft playthrough! I enjoy collecting loot right from the start, and I'm a bit of a hoarder! When I get my hands on my first backpack, I'm excited when it's from the Sophisticated Backpacks mod because they're so powerful and upgradable! Let your backpack become your personal companion as you slot in various upgrades to hold different things and improve your portable functionality! Want a crafting table and a furnace? You got it! Want to hold liquids? It's right here. Want to have cobble automatically picked up and throw into the void so you can FINALLY mine in peace? This mod excels at that!

I docked off half a star because trying to sort with the Sophisticated suite of mods is usually a headache and doesn't work well with most GUI-sorting mods.

A wonderful mod for detailing and understanding exactly what players are looking at! It's based on a history of mods that do the same thing, but I find this implementation to be the best! It stays up to date, it works well, and has a variety of addons that allow you to look at machines at a glance!

I've used this mod in the past, but found that it had trouble with some containers that I'd use it on in my modded Minecraft modpacks. The sorting would either fail to work or it would take items from my own inventory and move that around when sorting a container. Still, it's better than nothing and when it works, it works well! To be honest, I usually disable this mod when I encounter it.

For anyone who plays extensively stressful Minecraft modpacks, this is a requirement! It's very common for servers (and single-player worlds) to start lagging under heavy loads when featuring heavy usage of tech mods! Also, problems can arise when using mods that have not been optimized for performance. Spark comes in and allows you to run profiling tests to see exactly what processing jobs on your server are causing lag.

The only problem that I have with this mod is that I have trouble reading the data that the profiler gathers, even while using the Spark guide!

I LOVE Observable! It's extremely easy to use and gives a comprehensive benchmark of every single block entity in any of your Minecraft worlds and dimensions! There have been many many times where I was struggling to find out what machine in my complex automation setup was causing TPS lag on my server.

I tried using Spark, and while Spark is VERY powerful, it can be overwhelming to look at and confusing to dissect! Observable gives players the "stress" values they need and a .txt file outlining all loaded entities causing lag! You'll be surprised to see how much lag your character itself can create!

I docked half a star from performance because the GUI overlay showing the stress info can lag your client, but it's still completely usable and can be disabled!

Here's a mod that resolves an issue that has been present in Minecraft since the beginning. A player joins a popular server, leaves spawn and goes hunting for dungeons and villages. However, said player finds that everything has already been extensively looted and picked clean! Lootr comes in to resolve this and executes this job perfectly! I've never had an issue with this mod that wasn't just user error! I always bring this mod into any modpack I play with friends!

This mod brings a large variety of cooking recipes and foods to create. The meals always looks delicious and is fun to make too! Minecraft doesn't have many options when it comes to this area, so having the opportunity to expand upon the vanilla choices is always welcome! Live your cooking dreams and become the chef of your group!

I would say the only problem I find with this mod is that automation is fairly hard to do with the base mod. The pot you use for cooking doesn't like formatted recipes and prefers to have players place things manually.

This review will be decently in-depth and cover some of my user experience and experience as a modpack developer.

Core Mechanic

The mechanic of mixing and matching food items within categories to make food items is excellent, its a system where you get what you give meaning you can't really game it by putting in cheaper items like you can do with many other food mods, you simply just get a somewhat worse result since its all dynamic.

Lots of variety in the food items, you can make soups and stir-fry. Some items can give potion effects and you can experiment a bit similarly to have suspicious stew works. (yes you can put in a spider eye and troll your friends)

Misc

The mod has various themed blocks like counters, pillars, etc, which while sticking out a bit too much to see use everywhere, still should be versatile and have some use somewhere, this is Minecraft after all you can find a way.

The textures of the mod are nice, they don't stray from the Minecraft style.

There a few world-gen additions, like the fig and walnut trees that you will get used to, they spawn commonly. Stuff like the fissures I have no experience with, they could have issues with modded biomes or have been broken in a port.

Some Dev insights.

The mod uses item tags for the food categories, so items can be added simply with datapacks or KJS. These tags don't seem to inherit from common tags, meaning modded items are usually missing from them

Mods such as Quark and TFC inspect recipes in some ways, and do spam the log a little with how Caupona implements some of theirs. Only matters if you as a pack developer want to keep the logs as squeaky clean as you can.
