This mod despite not exactly doing much content wise, therefore not exactly making the game that much more fun, it does add some much needed convenience to the game, having mobs not spawning in my base all the time is really useful, and frankly should be in vanilla.

I tried this modpack recently, and it is extremely fun to play, though in the server there were some performance issues i noticed, such as at times being teleported back where i was 1-2 seconds ago, likely due to server lag.

the feel of the modpack fits its goal nicely, being a rundown apocalypse scenario, and even two custom servers with actual bartering

(Played this on CursedForge) This was the first modpack I ever played. Good for its time, but feels very dated.
Riding some of the pokemon feels kinda janky, like depending on which one you're riding it sometimes blocks your view if you're in first person but not the worst I guess if you just go into second person. The models are ok but look kinda out of place inside the blocky minecraft world, and some of the sounds the Pokemon make are kinda creepy to me lol. While playing multiplayer (idk if this happens in singleplayer) sometimes the quests straight up disappeared for some reason? Performance wise its mostly okay, I mostly found that I didn't have much trouble with framerate unless I was playing multiplayer.

Overall I'd say its okay for what it is, good first pack and still fun to play if you like Pokemon. I really like the evil team outfits and the soundtrack is nice :)

I've always always, eventually, gotten bored of (modded) Minecraft after a while of being excited. That has not been the case since I was shown Create.

Create is a tech mod without black boxes.
It's a tech mod without electricity (I'm sorry FE/RF, I just don't gel with you).
It doesn't really massively outscale any farms you can make in vanilla unless you go crazy.
It is also practically a decoration mod of practical decorations.
No guidebook clutter or need for a wiki, just [W] Ponder.
Trains.

You couldn't nerdsnipe me better.

while the occassional bug/glitch, this was one of the few modpacks that managed to hold my interest long enough to actually fully complete it, even multiple times! the gameplay loop and the satisfaction of slowly chipping away at that huge questline helped take out the tedium that i find in so many other packs.

while maybe not the most challenging modpack ever, the satisfaction of steamrolling anything and everything with all the tools available to make you as overpowered as you get really makes you feel

superior

tldr; this modpack pretty goated, ty aho ❤️

Great basic modpack to add whatever mods you want to. Runs pretty well. Nice home screen. There's no overarching quests/story anything just kinda you play Minecraft with Pokemon added in. Not much else to say lol all around good modpack

I'll preface this review by saying I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this pack. I never got any frame drops (apart from when initially joining the world, but that is expected) on relatively old hardware (2017).

I also played the one-room challenge, but I'll try to keep my review generic.

The pack offers a pretty nice premise. You are in a room with a limited volume in which to automate. Every chapter, you gain access to a new room. The pack makes pretty high use of in-world crafting to create interesting crafting recipes. The first chapter is especially good in that. Every chapter has its own gimmick, which makes for a pretty good experience automating it.

Now, what I really like about this pack is that the raw resources are essentially infinite, and are never the main bottleneck (unless you go for the one-room challenge...) This means that there is not the typical resource grind we see on skyblock. All expected materials can be created from this basic material you can harvest trivially, materia.

There are definitely points that lack some polish, a lot of which have been addressed by the pack dev as I reported them, but this pack is not meant to be played as a forever pack. You should not come in expecting a fully cohesive, narrative experience. To be clear, the amount of lack of polish I mean is the lack of some JEI integration for custom behavior (that is explained in the quest book instead) or the default configs of some machines being inconsistent. I found many other annoyances when playing the beta that the dev removed almost immediately and, as such, won't be considere by this review.
I also found the pack too easy if played normally. The packdev made power a non-issue from the get go, with very powerful generators (that I only had to upgrade thrice in my entire playthrough). I did not find that the limited space, the main gimmick of the pack, was a real challenge, because the dev provided more than enough space. That is also why I chose to attempt the one-room challenge (which the pack dev previously thought impossible). Still, I could figuratively bang my head at automation puzzles for (mostly) self-inflicted reasons and create a very satisfying machine blob. If you also fear that the pack might be too easy, the one-room challenge is a nice way to make things more difficult without ruining the fun.

Finally, I will mention that the dev was very kind and helpful, and responded very well to my relentless requests. I might or might not have been the reason behind 4 updates.

Overall, if you're looking for a short pack with a quick progression and a unique gimmick that is well self-contained, this is a good pack. If you're looking for a pack to replay 5 times and sink 1000 hours into, this is not the pack for you.

I haven't enjoyed a modpack in this long. I actually made my account to make this review lol. The leveling system takes a bit to get used to, but it's really integrated and actually makes the questbook useful as a source of XP. That system is what mainly sets this pack apart from others I think.

There's a lot of other tweaks and stuff that I could also mention in this pack (it has like 600 mods), but it all feels really well-thought out instead of unconfigured. For example, I loved the music this pack adds. Music plays much more often and is biome-based. There's also a lot of custom recipes, items have these tooltip decoration things, and the field guide has cute little descriptions for each mob, etc etc. The enchanting system is also material-based and I love that.

The only main issue I had is that chunk-loading can be slow at times, but I am on a lower end pc so idk

Using ProjectMMO as the crux of its leveling system with a lot of returning mods and some new mods, RAD2 is a refreshing experience.

However, it is incredibly grindy, as ProjectMMO tends to be. I can see this being a plus for a lot of people, but not for me. I find myself going an hour or two out of my way just to level something up.

RAD2 also includes Apotheosis, whose gem system and other RPG elements are a slippery slope that can become quite unbalanced if not handled with care. It can be overstimulating for some and clogs the inventory, but all things considered I believe RAD2 does a decent job handling this.

Lastly, bring friends if you can! They really enhance the experience, especially because ProjectMMO encourages you to specialize.
