I went into Tekkit The Resurrection 2 wanting an experience where I could create automation using mods that required a small amount of engineering, but once in game, the most efficient (and most boring) way to progress is through ProjectE. This mod makes progression FAR too easy and honestly ruins any semblance of difficulty. You mine for the first 20 minutes, then you have access to everything you could want for the rest of the game. You play in creative from that point forward. There is no automation through engineering, there is only ProjectE. If you want to play creative Tekkit, this is the pack for you, but I simply cannot recommend this due to my own bias and enjoyment from video games.

Review After 100+ hours and trying 3 different styles of gameplay.

Laptop i5 rtx3050 16gb ram (Avg 50fps) with complementary reimagined shaders on medium settings.

Primary and Best things I found:

  1. No ******** mods which are irrelevant to the mods main intensions. For eg. Create or Botania etc, which are like 90% of the current generation of modpacks.
  2. Easy to maneuver through the quests and ACTUALLY feels like a cohesive playthrough.
  3. The ore-locking/spawning mechanism is pretty nice and creates early-mid-late game balance.

Secondary good features which are common with other rpg mods:
Good class and role system.
Good quest and npc system
Bosses and weapons are well balanced.

Negatives:
Main issue is the modpack is still not perfectly fixed. There are issues here and there. Mostly minor, but few major bugs. I visited their discord and realised it is run by only on devoloper, so maybe thats why. But updates happen and it gets better and better.

The modpack has a strong and very enjoyable create progression, and includes most, if not all, major dungeon and boss mods. However, the two aspects of the modpack are wholly unrelated to each other. The create quests only serve to progress themselves and don't interact with the rest of the world very much, and the bosses and dungeons can be completed at any time with any equipment while also only serving to make you stronger in combat. While the create questline was fun, the boss progression was indistinguishable from every other expert modpack with an emphasis on dungeons and exploration.

This modpack is just a bunch of popular mods poorly put together with little to no recipe or configuration changes. It is extremely low quality, and it does not deserve its popularity at all. I’ve enjoyed this modpack in the past, but I’ve started to hate it as I began to play other modpacks. This is quite literally the worst popular modpack I’ve ever played by far.

The pack is focuses on automation with create and thermal to craft different tiers of mechanical essence. These items define your point of progression. Reach the next Tier and unlock new items to emc. Obtain more emc by automating mechanical essences. This way you aren't cluttered with a bunch of resources you can't use yet

I have tried out this modpack while I was browsing Curseforge’s Minecraft modpack site around year 2019 and I can say it’s a very good modpack I would recommend it even if there are newer Minecraft updates.

The modpack’s Quest Book isn’t just a regular quest tracker, it’s a great manual about the many tech/magic mods’ items, mechanics and crafting so many items.

The different biomes on Overworld provide the exploring part of Minecraft more meaning than in Vanilla Minecraft.

The tunes in the resource pack can provide a good immersion the first time, although they seem a bit monotonous to me (although it’s more a matter of personal preference).

In conclusion, an excellent modpack that is worth trying out, whether you consider yourself a newbie or a veteran Minecraft player.

Honestly, one of the greatest packs of all time. Ever played Divine Journey 2? Well this pack is DJ2 on crack and even better. So much more content, so much mire progression, and I honestly like how it makes you tap into the most obscure and unused features of every mod (albeit being tedious by times).

I highly recommend for anyone who's into expert packs to play it, with a friend preferably, and take the progression at your pace (Don't speedrun quests! Trust me, if you think "I feel like I should automate this", just do it! I am now in Chapter 8 going back on tons of resources I thought I could just batch craft a ton of).

All in all, great pack, such a fun time for anyone fond of both exploration and automation!

Everything is very good, interesting exploration, beautiful buildings, relatelively well balanced weapons, there are few armor metas so I hope in V6 there will be much more use for other armor types and weapons.

Hardcore in V5 is unbalanced, hard is very challenging, miners are overpowered and very laggy. I suggest just playing normal. Optimization is not best, in some places I needed to switch miners off because they caused insane lag, some people also turn on peaceful mode when looting large wasteland buildings.

Quest book is good, skills add fun and learning Create is actually interesting and useful.

Overall it's great and fun modpack, V6 is very promising and I hope we will get many new and cool things. Recommended to play "Play it now so you know how not to die instantly when v6 comes out" :)
